When they exit and enter we know
Their rising and falling we see
But ask them of us
And they cannot tell
They see us walking
Along every nook and cranny
In the holes and the cracks
Found in their bins and boxes
We do not spare the broken
Left overs and the one
Destroyed without form
They dread the sight of the family
With arms laid in wait for us
But we are only gatherers
Gatherers of what is good
And what you call bad
We gather the rejected
And the ones hidden
We gather what we find
In our path and what draws us
We can tell the time and redeem it
When it will rain and
When rain ceases
When the sun will rise
And when it will sink
As the time go by we prepare
Awaiting which event nature brings
Do not hate us we are only gatherers
