I Burn

I burn because I carry fire
I carry fire because
The assignment must be grilled
With a blazing furnace
Rising with intense heat
Fierceness and energy
Consuming every lingering dross
And every disgusting whiff
Making me clean for the table
The table upon which I live
Yes I burn and I do daily.
