This is where the Commons Live in Tarkwa

This is God’s gift
It remains today and tomorrow
Not even the invaders vanquished
They built the rail and train
To drain and hord for their crave
They pitched their camps
To take hold and control
With the help of the commons

It has a beautiful name
And an extravagant value
It is extracted with sophistication
And the hands of the commons
They work it with sweat and blood
Alas when you enter their gates
You travel many trenches
Their houses are mean
And their amenities are scarce
Of their toil the city is made
Yet far from the city
When their pockets are full
Their masters are fulfilled
This is where the commons live
